Russia Retreat from Kherson: The Russian Troops have fled from a part of Kherson in Ukraine. People of the area are celebrating after the departure of the Russian army. Patriotic songs are being sung by waving blue and yellow flags.
From the time the invasion of Ukraine began, it was occupied by the Russians. A local person told the Observer, an English newspaper, “Vladimir Putin said that Russia will always be here but in the end they did not last five minutes and ran away like goats.”
Why did the Russian soldiers flee?
Another newspaper The Guardian quoted a man as saying, “Putin wanted to kill us. He destroyed his own country. Russia’s withdrawal from Kherson is its great defeat.
It is believed that it was no longer possible for Russia to supply essential things in Kherson, so it stepped back. Already alert Ukrainian soldiers entered the area as Russian troops left, and locals celebrated the first hour of independence by hoisting blue-yellow flags.
Tears, hugs, joy: look how deoccupied Kherson greeted Ukrainian soldiers.

Police, TV and radio services returned to the port city on Saturday (November 12). This region is like a land bridge between Russia and Crimea. The Crimean peninsula was annexed to Moscow in 2014.
What is the condition of the city after the departure of the Russians?
According to The Guardian, locals lit bonfires outside the regional administration building and danced around it, sang patriotic songs and chanted ZSU, the initials of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It has been said in the report that some people also waved banners decorated with watermelon, the much-loved fruit of Kherson.
It is being told that it is not that easy in practice to resettle the city devastated in the war. According to the report of the news agency AP, there is a shortage of electricity, water, medicines and food in the city. An official said that when the Russian soldiers left the place, the water supply was non-existent.
‘The battle continues’
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his address to the nation that the occupants destroyed all vital infrastructure – communications, water supply, heating and electricity – before fleeing Kherson.
According to the information, Russian soldiers are camping on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River. About 70 percent of the area of Kherson is still under Russian control. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba has said that Ukraine is winning the battle on the ground but the war continues.
