Imran Khan: A senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has revealed that party chief Imran Khan had a secret meeting with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Ishaq Khakwani, former president of the Southern Punjab chapter of PTI, disclosed in a talk show that this meeting was organized by President Dr. Arif Alvi at Rashtrapati Bhavan three-four days ago.
Khakwani gave important information about the meeting
To substantiate his claim, he said that lifting of the ban on Imran Khan’s presence on TV channels was one of the outcomes of the meeting, which was not reported in the media. Referring to the PTI chief’s interview with Kamran Khan, in which he suggested that the tenure of the incumbent army chief should be extended till the next general election, Khakwani said that the interview was earlier stopped from being telecast but after the meeting. Later it was allowed.
Khakwani praises President Arif Alvi
Ishaq Khaqwani lauded President Arif Alvi, saying he is a sensible politician and can best serve the country if Imran Khan is inducted into the cabinet. He said that he has known Dr Alvi since the year 2011 and in the year 2018 he worked with him. Both have done many things together, because Dr. Alvi was their secretary general. Also, he has been a supporter of Imran Khan for the last 14 years.
Imran Khan reversed his statement
Imran Khan clarified his remarks and said that he had not suggested extension of General Bajwa’s tenure. Imran Khan Said that he had only asked to delay the appointment of the army chief till fresh elections.
