Pak Army Chief Visits America: Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa is currently on his US tour. There he will meet US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin at the Pentagon on Tuesday. This important meeting is going to take place amid signs of increasing military cooperation between the two countries. General Bajwa has gone there on the invitation of the US Defense Department.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also met several top officials of US President Joe Biden’s administration, including Foreign Minister Antony Blinken, in Washington last week.
Understand the importance of a responsible relationship
Serious discussions were also held between the heads of the two countries on many issues. During their discussion, the US had explained to Pakistan’s foreign minister that he needed to understand the importance of a “responsible relationship” with India. Apart from this, he also discussed the solution of China’s increasing debt on Pakistan.
Welcome to the Pentagon
Austin will welcome Bajwa to the Pentagon, after which the two will discuss bilateral and regional issues. US relations with Pakistan have improved in recent months, especially in terms of military cooperation, with the US last month announcing a US$450 million package for Pakistan to maintain F-16 fighter jets.

Let us tell you that the tenure of General Bajwa is ending on November 29 this year. In the year 2019 itself, his tenure was extended for 3 years, which is ending now. Earlier on August 18, General Michael E Kurilla, Commander of the Central Command of America, also met General Bajwa at the General Headquarters (GHQ) of the Pakistan Army.
