Elon Musk Twitter: Last month, Elon Musk took over Twitter and took full control of Twitter. Elon Musk made many changes in Twitter one after the other in 15 days, but Musk also reversed some decisions for himself.
It is clear that Musk is experimenting with Twitter and none of his policies have been completely finalized for the time being. Let us now talk about the decisions which were withdrawn.
first pulled out and then called back
When Elon Musk entered Twitter, everyone’s first concern was layoffs and something similar happened. As soon as Musk arrived, he started laying off employees from top management to lower level. According to Bloomberg’s report, Twitter has shown the way out of about 90 percent of the employees in India itself and more than half of the employees from the US-based headquarters had to lose their jobs. However, Musk also reversed his decision.
Media reports suggest that most of the employees who were fired were later called back. The company felt that there were many of these people who were very beneficial to the company. After this, a lot of questions arose on Musk’s retrenchment decision. The main question was whether Musk took the decision to lay off Twitter in a hurry?
paid blue tick
Social media platform Twitter saw the subscription model as the biggest change after the arrival of Elon Musk. Musk clearly said that now users will have to pay 8 US dollars per month for blue tick or verification. Twitter has also started this service in many countries. However, his decision was also criticized a lot and in the end, Musk had to change his decision and for now the paid blue tick service was stopped. Let us tell you that since Musk became the owner of Twitter, he himself has campaigned for paid blue ticks from his Twitter.
U-turn on official badge
On November 8, Twitter introduced an “official” label to select verified accounts, including major media outlets and governments, when launching its new $8 premium subscription product. Just a day later, on November 9, Musk tweeted that he had stopped the new ‘official’ label for Twitter accounts for now.
Musk’s biggest decision so far
- Elon Musk attacked Twitter’s top leadership as soon as he became the owner. Here, Musk entered and on the other hand he showed the way out to CEO Parag Agarwal. Along with Agarwal, top officials including CFO Ned Sehgal, legal affairs and policy chief Vijaya Gadde also lost their jobs.
- Musk has promised that there will be no change in content policies for now. He has clarified that no decision has been taken yet regarding the restoration of banned accounts like Donald Trump. The final decision on this will be taken only after a newly announced Content Moderation Council. He has said that it will take at least “a few more weeks” to implement the new process of account restoration.
- According to a report in The Guardian, Elon Musk is reportedly also considering charging fees for video content. The feature will include letting people post videos and charging users to watch them, which Twitter will cut back.
- Elon Musk is making rapid changes in the company. In his new decree, he has issued a new guideline for those running parody accounts. Elon Musk shared a tweet, in which he said that now users running parody accounts will not only have to write ‘parody’ in their bio, but they will also have to write ‘parody’ in their name. He said in the tweet that the users who run the parody should not mislead the people.
