floated in the air for two days
A man from China’s Heilongjiang province was floating in the air for more than a day for 300 kilometers. According to Chinese state media reports, this man lost control of his hydrogen balloon while harvesting pine nuts. However, this person was saved. China’s official broadcaster CCTV told on Tuesday that this person was identified as Hu Yongxu.
Yongshu was collecting pine cones with a colleague in northeastern China’s Heilongjiang province on Sunday, September 4. During this, his balloon started rising rapidly. During this, Hu’s companion jumped out of the balloon, but he remained hanging in the air with the balloon. Video footage from several Chinese media outlets showed a yellow balloon soaring in the sky over pine forests.
Called brother-in-law and saved his life
In an interview with the state-run Zhejiang Daily on Wednesday, Hu narrated his ordeal. Hu said that he immediately called his brother-in-law while hanging in the air and told him that he was afraid of heights. Hu told that from above everything looked like an ant. CCTV said police contacted Hu the next day, and instructed him over the phone how to deflate and lower the balloon safely.
According to China’s official broadcaster CCTV, Hu had successfully landed in a wooded area following the instructions of the Hu Yongshu Police, but even after this the rescue team kept looking for him. The reason for this was the fault of their phone location service. According to the CCTV report, Hu was finally rescued on Tuesday morning and is in good condition with no damage apart from a minor injury to his back.
