On October 1, Somali military and international security partners carried out drone strikes near the coastal city of Haramka in which Abdullahi Yare was killed, according to the statement. Shabab was one of the group’s most notorious members and was also a prominent preacher, the statement said.
Abdullahi was also the former head of Shura Council
The ministry has said in its statement that the terrorist Abdullahi Yare, who was killed in the drone attack, has also been a former head of the Shura Council. Along with this, he also took care of the transaction of money. In addition, Abdullahi was also considered the leader of the movement associated with Ahmed Diriyah. The ministry has said that the elimination of Abdullahi is a matter of great relief for the country of Somalia.
America had placed a reward of 3 million dollars
Abdullahi was one of the top seven terrorists who were wanted by the US in 2012. The US had also placed a reward of $3 million on it. Recently there were many deadly attacks in Somalia. After this, President Hassan Sheikh Mohammed had opened a front against these terrorists and work was being done on a war footing. Recently a hotel in the capital Mogadishu was attacked in which 20 people were killed.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamed only last month appealed to citizens to stay away from al-Shabaab’s controlled areas. He also talked about intensifying attacks against terrorists.
