After receiving information about the bomb threat from Pakistan, Indian security agencies became alert and the Iranian plane was not allowed to land in Delhi. The pilot of Mahan Airlines plane remained adamant on landing in Delhi. The Iranian plane was allowed to land in Jaipur or Chandigarh from India but its pilot refused to divert the plane at either of the two airports.
For some time India was informed from Tehran that the bomb threat information was fake, it should be ignored. Sukhoi aircraft of the Indian Air Force kept chasing the Iranian aircraft with a certain distance before the call came from Tehran. After the news of the bomb was told to be fake, the IAF aircraft dropped the Iranian jet out of its airspace. After this the Iranian passenger plane moved towards its destination China. Later information came that the Iranian plane had made a safe land in Guangzhou, China.
In this entire turmoil, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security have jointly acted as per the prescribed procedure.
