Asif Afridi Match Fixing Case: Once again the echo of corruption is being heard in Pakistan cricket. Actually, this time spinner Asif Afridi seems to be tightening the noose. The Pakistan Cricket Board had recently banned Asif Afridi from playing. Asif Afridi’s play has been banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board under Article 4.7.1 of the Anti-Corruption Code, but before the matter is resolved, two more cricketers have come under the scanner. However, the names of both the players have not been revealed.
‘Asif Afridi alone cannot be involved in the whole matter’
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, if both the players are found guilty then the board will definitely take strict action. However, the authority is of the view that spinner Asif Afridi alone cannot be involved in the entire affair. At present, the Pakistan Cricket Board has formed the Anti-Corruption Unit for its investigation. This Anti Corruption Unit has been sent to Muzaffarabad for investigation of the matter. Significantly, Asif Afridi is a left arm spinner. He has played in Pakistan’s National T20 Cup.
