Recently, Dhoni was seen leaving cricket and enjoying tennis. Dhoni was seen watching a match of US Open 2022 at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The match took place between Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz and Italy’s Janic Sinar.
The US Open on Saturday tweeted a picture of the Chennai Super Kings captain from the Indian Premier League (IPL) side and wrote, “In case you missed the look, Indian batting legend MS Dhoni at the ground between Alcaraz and Sinner on Wednesday. Enjoying the record-setting quarter-final match.”
Dressed in a blue T-shirt, Dhoni gave a smile and was seen clapping for a contestant. One fan said, “Great to see one of India’s greats being recognized at the US Open.
The 19-year-old Alcaraz defeated Sinar 6-3, 6-7 (7), 6-7 (0), 7-5, 6-3 in a five-hour, 15-minute long quarter-final to reach the semi-finals. The classic quarter-final between Alcaraz and Sinar ended at 02.50 pm on Wednesday, becoming the second longest match in US Open history.
Prior to this match, the most delayed finish in US Open history was at 02.26, which occurred three times. The longest match in US Open history was between Stephen Edberg and Michael Chang in the 1992 semi-final, which lasted five hours and 26 minutes.
