Delhi University Webinar: Delhi University will organize a series of public webinars from next week. The purpose of these webinars is to inform the students about the process of registering for undergraduate admissions, listing their colleges and preferences. Registrar Vikas Gupta said that a webinar would be organized every day by the university authorities. However the colleges have also been asked to conduct open sessions at their level in the college to help them solve all the queries of the students.
On Friday, Registrar Gupta and Dean Admissions Hanit Gandhi, along with all the colleges, held a session to explain this year’s admission process. Earlier, colleges used to play an important role in the admission process as each college set its own cut-off for its courses. But now with the advent of CUET, the role of the colleges is now to accept or reject the admission of the candidates after scrutiny of their documents. The seat allotment will be done by the university on the basis of centralized merit list. Which will be prepared on the basis of CUET score and preferences of colleges filled by the students in the form.
Admission will not be given on the basis of undertaking
University officials emphasized that this year, DU will not admit any candidate to any program on the basis of undertaking in lieu of necessary certificates like EWS or caste certificate. Dean told about this that this year, we are not going to give any admission on the basis of undertaking because we cannot waste a seat if the candidate becomes ineligible later. On Friday evening, the university issued a notification asking the candidates to prepare all their certificates by 30 September.
